Evil

Today

I caught a glimpse of evil.

It was hiding between my thoughts.

And the moment I noticed its presence,

it dissipated.

Wow, I thought—

since evil lives in my thoughts

instead of out there somewhere,

maybe I hold the power to destroy it.

I don’t know you,

but for now,

I think I’d better pray for the right thinking

and try to follow it

with the right action.
